How to get to Uunisaari?

The official address of the restaurant is Pohjoinen Uunisaari, 00140 Helsinki.

During the summer, the restaurant can be reached from 15.4.-15.11. by boat from the harbour.

The boat can accommodate 30 people at a time.

In winter, from mid-November to mid-April, Uunisaari is accessed by a pontoon bridge that leaves from the beach at Kaivopuisto, next to the Rescue Department pier.

Can you bring your own catering or drinks?

Restaurant Uunisaari operates as a takeaway restaurant. It is not possible to organise your own food or drink service.

Can we arrange a meeting?

The meetings will be held at a separately agreed time when the premises are free Mon-Fri 10-16.00.

When should the booking be confirmed?

The provisional booking is valid for the duration of the offer. If other enquiries arrive earlier for the same date, the booking must be either confirmed or cancelled. When confirming the booking, we will need the billing address for the booking fee. The booking will be confirmed once the booking fee has been paid.

We would like to offer our guests drinks from the bar after dinner, is this possible?

Yes, it works perfectly well and there are several options for implementation. For example, we can agree that the bar will allow you to pick up certain drinks on the wedding couple’s tab, up to a certain amount, or that the guests will be given drink tickets for pre-arranged drinks. The couple is responsible for making and distributing the drink tickets. A free bar is also possible.

What is included in the price of the subscription?

The price includes basic catering services, tablecloths, tableware and candles.

When can we come and decorate?

Guests can come to decorate the space 4 hours before the event or possibly the night before if there is no other event at Uunisaari at that time. Place cards, table cards and other small decorations will be delivered to the island the day before with instructions.

More extensive items such as flowers will be delivered and set up within the above timeframe.

What technology is available for music and speeches?

We have speakers for music input, and you can connect your own tablet or similar device to the sound system for background music. There is also one wireless microphone in the hall for speeches. Bands, DJs and other orchestras always bring their own sound system. There is also a data projector and a screen for presentations.

Can you bring your own band?

Yes, and often there is an orchestra of the couple’s choice playing at the wedding. The band can bring instruments and other sound equipment on the same day, soundcheck time to be confirmed by the restaurant. We can also arrange a backstage area for the band and a band meal for a separate fee.

The band should collect their instruments and other belongings at the end of the event and leave with the guests on the last boat.

How long can the party last?

The restaurant is available for your use from the start of the event until 24:00 at no extra charge. At these meetings we can negotiate an extension until 02 o’clock. We charge 300€ per hour for the extra time.

Can we come and taste the menus?

Pre-selected menu served to tablesa test meal for the bride and groom at half price. From the buffet menu, tasting of the main course only.

The number of people will be confirmed 10 working days before the event and the cost of the event will be invoiced excluding drinks before the event. The drinks for the event will be invoiced after the event.

The payment period for the invoice is 10 days. If you wish to pay by invoice, you must provide your billing address, address, business ID when confirming your order.
